Even a helpless, uneducated woman has tried to help more than two dozens orphans by looking after them why can't educated, specially US /CANADA do something. If you phone 5530124 in Kathmandu and visit the place you'll be amazed and ashamed of yourself being just talkative like majority of nepalis. More education means more cunning more greed and more egotist. Try to help helpless children with money. If you haven't, just hug them - even that's a lot to them.

And of course, more education means more anger, more sensitive too.

Whatever gave you the idea that "More education means more cunning more greed and more egotist and of course, more education means more anger, more sensitive too". You need to change that view of yours first man. That was such a stupid thing to say. Anyways that is not the reason why I wanted to post here. There are friends of mine trying to sponsor children back in Nepal and give them a better education. The help doesn't necessarily have to be in monetary terms, but money would help a great deal. They are not any NGOs or anything, never took any development classes, but just commoners who want to make a difference. So it would be grand if you guys could give your input as to how to make this successful. Help from us here in US will contribute a lot and I am sure Sajha can play a major in that. Just give your input as to how you think it can be done.

I know one of my aunt here sends money every year to a family in Nepal to pay for their 3 children's education. This way the money does not go to any NGO's and she in turn get a copy of the report card mailed to her to make sure the children are indeed being sent to school. If each family here does that to at least one student in Nepal, it helps make all the difference on earth.

That is really cool. You can also sponsor a child in SOS online. I don't know what it is that I am looking for here, but there must be something that can be done. I mean instead of just complaining let's do something creative. More than any NGOs and the government, I believe we the younger generation can really do something.
