hey i just received a call from my company, my doc has been selected and has been sent for processing. which means these guys are pretty quick. guys may be you could check with your company or related people to find it out too.wish you guys good luck.

but from wht i heard, thier confirming that they received it doesnt mean u r approved for it yet!! you would still be in lucky draw quota right?

ya i mean it goes for processing only after the random pick up .and i think they are done with the random pick ups thats why it has gone for processing

nepalihuma is right;that was just a reciept number.Latest update in official website says : they have just sorted 32755 petition altogether including Advance degree exmeption.I guess,by the end of next week,they will be able to sort out all application and ready for random selection.

If you have received a receipt number, does that mean USCIS has already entered all the applications to conduct the random drawing.
According to my understanding, the random drawing is done only after entering all the applications that were received on the 2nd and 3rd April. that is wahy USCIS has stated that applicznts will only know whether their petitions ahve been accepted after several weeks.. this is only about the petitions being accepted not approved...
Care to shed some light on this??

I think when you get a receipt number, that means your application is in process... You can check status of your application online with that number.

Here is how i think the process is....( i could be wrong....)

1. USCIS gets all the aplications
2. Enters all the petitions that were received on April 2 & 3
3. After all 'Eligible' petitions have been entered, they conduct a random drawing..
4. Those that make the cut will then receive their respective reciept number..those that did not make the cut..will get the rejection notice or whatever..
5. The processing will then start from this point onwards...

or vice versa to number 3 and 4.

they have only gone thru entering inormations of 28052 cases, which means they still have to go thru about 104948 applications. Only then they will do random selection. So I think smytas' application information has been entered in their system but its not been selected by random drawing yet. Am I correct?

I agree with Hi nanu.. They are still sorting out the applications. The receipt number just confirms that they received application. it is yet to be entered in databsae (may be) but definetely has to go thru random selection....

How would someone get the receipt number so soon? And again, today is Easter/Good Friday -- Holiday isn't it? I wonder if there is a way the Receipt confirmation could be tracked Online or by Phone. I have been entirely relying on my Attorney's words, and this is what she said:

We will receive a receipt notice for the case in the mail in about a week to ten days (from Monday, April 2nd). Once we have the receipt, the decision will be issued within around 7-10 more days.
As soon as I get the receipt, I will let you know.
