• राजभक्तिमा आफूलाई कोहीभन्दा कम देखाउन नचाहने पेशेवर न्यायाधीशहरूप्रति पनि दरबार अर्थात् अहिलेको सत्ता आश्वस्त हुन सकेन । सर्वोच्च र पुनरावेदन अदालमा आफूप्रति वफादार व्यक्तिहरूलाई नियुक्त गरेर न्यायपालिकाको मोर्चा 'बलियो' पार्न खोजिएको छ ।
• राष्ट्रिय सङ्कटमोचनका हिसाबले कुनै अर्थ नराख्ने नगरपालिकाको चुनावलाई के के न हो जस्तो गरी प्रचार गर्न राष्ट्रिय ढुकुटीको दुरुपयोग गरिएको छ ।
• राजाका मन्त्री र स्वघोषित सल्लाहकारहरूको स्वर झन्-झन् चर्को, आक्रामक र विक्षिप्त हुँदै गएको छ । यसबाट आफ्नो कुरा कसैले सुनिरहेको छैन भन्ने आभास उनीहरूलाई भएको देखिन्छ । अर्कातिर, वार्ता र सहमतिका राजनीतिक फर्मूलाका कुरा गर्दै मन्त्री बन्न पुगेका कैयौँको चाहिँ बोली नै सुनिन छोडेको छ ।
• दरबारियाहरूले 'स्वतः आफ्नो' ठान्ने गरेको राप्रपा '१९ माघ' को कोपभाजनको शिकार भई दोस्रोपटक टुक्रिएको छ । राप्रपा संस्थापक मध्येका नेता विश्वबन्धु थापाले, राष्ट्रिय ढुकुटीको दुरुपयोग गरी राजाले नै सो पार्टर्ीीmुटाएको खुला आरोप लगाएका छन् ।
• ७ माघमा प्रस्तावित दलहरूको जुलुस पर््रदर्शनको सामना गर्ने सवालमा सरकारी तहमा फैलिएको खैलाबैला र तयारी हर्ेदा/सुन्दा लाग्छ- सिंहदरबारमा बस्नेहरू माघको जाडोले झैँ थर्रर नै काँपिरहेका छन् ।

राजाको भ्रमणः विकास बजेटको लूट

राजदम्पतीको पर्ूवाञ्चल भ्रमण विकासका नाउँमा छुट्याइएको सरकारी बजेट दुरुपयोग गर्ने सुनौलो अवसर बनेको छ । जिल्ला विकास समितिहरूले विकास बजेट खर्च गरेर भ्रमण खर्च धानेका छन् ।

राजाको इलाम भ्रमण अवसरमा भएको रु.५ लाखको खर्च, जिविसको विकास अनुदान शर्ीष्ाकबाट कट्टा गरी मिलाइएको जानकारी जिविस सचिवर् इश्वरकुमार गिरीले दिएका छन् । करीब रु.१ करोडको विकास बजेट भएको इलाम जिविसको निकासी करबाट हुने रु.२० लाख आम्दानी द्वन्द्वको कारण ठप्प भएपछि त्यसै पनि धेरै विकास योजनाहरू अलपत्र परिरहेका थिए । अब जिविससँग मनोनीतहरूलाई तलब-भत्ता खुवाउने पैसा मात्र बाँकी छ ।

पाँचथर जिविसले राजा फिदिम आउँदा रु.३ लाख ३० हजारभन्दा बढी खर्च गर्‍यो । बिलहरू अझै आइरहेकाले जम्मा खर्चको हिसाब निस्किसकेको छैन । राष्ट्रिय विकास मञ्चका अध्यक्ष झलकमान थापाले ६० जना युवा स्वयंसेवक परिचालन गरेबापत रु.२९ हजार र स्थानीय बल थापाको टिमले चारसय जनालाई खाना र खाजा खुवाएबापत रु.७० हजारको बिल पेश गरेका छन् । तर स्वयंसेवक खटिएका विवेक आले भने आफूहरूले रु.१० का दरले मात्र खाजा खर्च पाएको बताउँछन् । मञ्चका अध्यक्ष झलकमान थापा भन्छन्, "मेरो तर्फाट १५ हजार खर्च भएको हो, तर पर्ूवमन्त्री लावतीका मान्छेले ७० हजारको बिल पेश गरेपछि मैले पनि २९ हजारको नक्कली बिल बनाएँ । बाँकी रकम राम्रो काममा सदुपयोग गर्छु ।" मञ्च निर्माणमा रु.७० हजार खर्च भएको देखाइएको छ, तर निर्माणमा संलग्न मजदुरहरू यसमा रु.५ हजारभन्दा बढी नलागेको बताउँछन् ।


लावतीले हड्पेको पाँचथर जिविसको गाडी ।
मेची राजमार्गको पौवा-फिदिम खण्ड कालोपत्रे गर्न आएको नागार्जुन कन्स्ट्रक्सनलाई फिदिमको खेलमैदान सम्याउन, ढुङ्गा-गिटी बोक्न र हेलिप्याड बनाउन लगाइयो, तर उसले यसमा खर्च भएको करीब रु.४ लाख पाएको छैन । कन्स्ट्रक्सनका निर्देशक राजु फुयाल भन्छन्, "अहिले यसबारे कुरा गरेर साध्य छैन ।" खेलमैदान सम्याएको र गेट बनाएको भन्दै फिदिमका केही युवाहरूले सात वटा स्थानीय सोलार कम्पनीसँग रु.५ हजारको दरले पैसा मागेका छन् । लोटस इनर्जीका सुपक राजभण्डारीको कथन छ, "सवारी खर्च भन्दै रकम माग्न आउने युवाहरूको ताँती छ । नदिए भोलि जे पनि हुनसक्छ भनेर धम्क्याउँछन् ।"

शाही भ्रमणमा जिल्ला प्रशासन, नगरविकास समिति, उद्योग बाणिज्य संघ, व्यापार संघ आदिले पनि खर्च गरेका छन् । राप्रपा, राजपा, प्रजातन्त्र नेपाल, फिदिम स्पोर्टिङ क्लब, राजावादी युवा विकास मञ्च, राष्ट्रिय विकास मञ्च आदि दल एवं संस्थाहरू पनि सरकारी बजेट खर्च गर्नेमा पर्दछन् । धेरैले नक्कली बिल बनाएर कैयौँ गुणा बढी खर्च देखाएका छन् । पर्ूव सांसद अइन्द्रविक्रम थाम्सुहाङ भन्छन्, "अख्तियारले यिनीहरूलाई तत्काल कारबाही गर्नुपर्छ ।"

एक अर्को समाचार अनुसार, पाँचथरका प्रभावशाली राजावादी नेता पद्मसुन्दर लावतीले झण्डै १० महिनादेखि जिविसको एउटा गाडी निजी प्रयोगमा लगेका छन् । उक्त गाडी लावतीको परिवार र ससुराली खलकले झापामा गुडाउने गरेको जिविसले जनाएको छ । सो गाडी दमक नगरपालिका-१३ स्थित लावतीका कान्छी श्रीमतिपट्टकिा जेठान दाजुको घरमा राख्ने गरिएको छ ।

गाडी लावती परिवारको निजी प्रयोगमा रहे पनि त्यसको तेल र मर्मतसम्भार खर्च भने जिविसले नै व्यहोरिरहेको छ । त्यसनिम्ति अहिलेसम्म रु.१ लाख ५० हजार खर्च भइसकेको जिविसका कर्मचारीहरू बताउँछन् ।

I want the monarchy in Nepal to end. The king's actions only serve to reflect his feudal and autocratic tendencies.

We need to support the republican movement in Nepal, which has recently gained so much momentum.

I would like to take part in the rallies but I believe that troops have been instructed to shoot anyone defying the curfew.

I work as a human rights defender, so my job would be to monitor demonstrations. It may yet be possible to demonstrate outside the curfew zone.

King Gyanendra is carving a path to his destruction. I believe that the king knows he cannot last long and is trying every possible way to live up to a false heroism.

Let him enjoy his "mirage-popularity" while it lasts. Ultimately, this can only lead to his downfall.

There is a lot of support for the pro-democracy rallies. We are by no means a minority anymore. The whole nation is in tune and we have had enough of monarchy.

Real sovereignty should be vested in the Nepali people.
