Fk you Raman for saying shame on being nepali. Some insane did something wrong and you feeling shame for all nepali. What a poor fellow you.. go fk yourself and enlighten... I am not shamed on being a nepali. I suggest you get asylum and greencard and citizenship as soon as possible so that you should not feel ashamed for being a nepali.
Rajesh Giri (Victim's husband) and her neighborhood are to be blamed and shamed. I wish media has shown her rented house and neighborhood... It would have been the best slap to her husband and the people living on her neighborhood.

Sometimes I fell like women has no control of her life, this may not make much sense to most of us who are from cities but for the village. Their life before marriage is not usually plesent because of various social norms and after marriage is totally on "trail and error".
Parents are always focused on getting a nice guy and getting her married. She is only taught to be nice to everyone and do household work.Usually she is so much restricted from doing everything that she lacks power to think what is good for her and right decision. She is emotional and doesn't want to hurt her parents, so does everything she is supposed to fit into the "model of good daughter". she is less educated or doesn't have life supporting back up plan for any kind of disaster in her life.
When her life goes smooth after marriage thats good, she is most probably lucky whether she may be happy or not. If it doesn't that is a disaster. Imagine how long it will take her even to realize that she has been abused, and after that disclosing to others about that fact. She is scared because she wants to maintain the relation as much as she can, at the mean time knows she has no money to support herself and probaly if her child for basic needs.
I don't know if you guys agree with me or not but with and exception it's no dout her husband who is to be blamed for this mean act, and also her parents too who did not equiped her will enough life survival kits. I am not taking about the above case, but in general as I don't know anything about the above incident in detail.
Some can can quickly get on with their life but still the road is tough for most of them. She is just a victim.....
I hope the girl will get the justice but can imagine how her life will be after this all incident is over.....

Gharko kukur pani baliyo hunchha... "Pad" and "Position" bhanne kura bilkul lagu hunchha. Common neighbors do not want to go against their relatively popular figure in home affairs. These kind of incidents happen almost everywhere in Nepal. Sanchita Giri is the one brave woman who spoke against his husband and injustice. Nepali woman, in general, do not want to expose the degraded home and family tie among the neighbors, even they are very much suffered. Nepal ma j pani hune garcha. Euta neta jasle nari pachheko hak hit ko bhasan garchha usle kahile pani afno wife lai adhikar sumpera afu saraha thaneko udaharan nikai kam hola. Yesai pani Nepal ma 1 level tallo kt biha garne chalan chha... kina ki woman lai purus bhanda sadhai tala rakhna chahanchhan. Yeha level bhannale caste bahek sabai parchha hola sayed. Kina yesto kunni?

Haude I agree with you but it does not mean that I am not supportive of her husband. I do not think that a man working in agricultural division as a section officer could be such a powerful guy that even their landlord and the neighbor would be scared of protecting that lady. These days even the police or army men are powerless how could that guy be such a powerful moran....(lol)... may be her husband is YCL member ...then it makes sense...

Nepe When was the last time you went to nepal. Trust me a guy with that position didn't have that kind of power back in the day either. And besides everyone is coming to a conclusion by listening to one side only. I understand women are opressed in our society, what if this woman was cheating on her husband? What if she was sleeping around when he was at work??
She seems to be abused but let the husband speak too, you are innocent untill proven guilty. Nepe bro chorera PHD leko ho ki kaso??? Without hearing the debate from the both side everyone is trying to blame that dude. What if this woman is lying to get rid of her husband so she can marry her lover!!!!
just to think about it. Jabo Krishi Adhikrit ko yeto haisiyat, sara tole nai darauney... Nepe get a life.. you are full of propaganda.

You should shame on opening Disco's in nepal, you should be ashamed there are Nude bars in nepal, you should ashamed there are brothels in nepal. This is a domestic dispute, what is there to be ashamed off.. crap happens'.

I like the way Sampada explained. I don't think a girl will keep on accepting abuse from her husband just to get rid of married life. This girl seems to be in desperate need of help, that is why she is asking for help. Especially in our country, women who are abused hardly go outside and ask for help, fearing of society. This girl is brave to do so, do you think this girl wants to make her own kids father look this bad infront of reporters if she was not abused? She most have thought of her society, her kid,her parents before proceeding this steps. And abuse is abuse, and this girl's husband has no right to abuse her physically. It is wrong.

Abslutely it is shame that nobody was there to help a victim. Such is our society. Just a reminder that we have a long way to go to change our old habits.

It doesn't matter what is behind the scene but I think govt should look into the case. the women is brave to stand up N hope she ill get a justice, I underestand what Raman meant when he said, shame of being Nepali. I don't think its appropiate to attack Raman for his anger regarding the news. But we should thanks to him to inform us about the incident that is happening N can happen to our own sisters N frens...

RRR, what do you think informed Nepalis are going to do about this matter? may i ask what are you going to do, since you're informed now? Raman is wrong. We Nepali people did not vote for her husband to beat her up, if the incident was true. Hence, we can not be held responsible for what her husband did( or not). it is like, you can't watch court tv. with some drunkard beating up his wife and base everyone in usa is a wife beater.
I find it exteremly hard to believe this story. Nepali people are not scared of section officer living in a rent working for agricultural dept. if it was police beating up her or ycl i would take it , but a civilian beating up a women in a street , dragging by her hair, no man Nepal is not like Indian movie yet. But i can't say she's wrong either, but if i were a judge i would think many times before i rule out a decison for this case.

truly some of you people posting on this thread must be idiots. how can you point at a woman being beaten by her husband and say you feel sorry for the husband? it must have taken her an amazing amount of courage to come out and tell the world what is being done with her. i applaud her courage. husbands and wives fight, that normal and healthy for the relationship, but the line must be drawn somewhere. if i met this guy in the street i would jagaltyaing him.
