Now the leaders have to stick to their roadmap, exhibit unity and bring the maoists in main political frame. I hope you leaders are matured enough and got lessons from the past mistakes and would not again fight like dogs do for a piece of bone. Congratulations!

Its nice to hear that Parliament has been restored, now watch the first thing that all these MPs does is ask for facilities that state provides, quarters, car and on top of it they will go and claim the salary that they entitled too. I hope i will be wrong to guess that way but cannot predict anything to these gready NETAS. And also they wouldn't fight among eachother for the post of PM, as we know the history how it started. We can hope for better nepal. And last but least we can ask whoever becomes the next PM, not to go Palace to dissolve the parliament again ! Peace

The king stated that he is reinstating the parliament in accordance with the "margachitra" (roadmap) of the agitating parties? FYI, the roadmap also supported by the Maoists contains these things: reinstatement of parliament, a new government of the political parties, dialogue with the Maoists/a roundtable, and election to the constituent assembly to draft a new constitution. The new constitution should decide the role of the monarch and the armed forces. I think it is time to celebrate with guarded optimism. It's not enough. Some leaders are likely to be tempted by the short-term benefits and forget the sacrifice and aspirations of the people. The civil soceity, professional organizations, and the meadia should keep a close watch on the activities of the parliament and goverment and force them to act according to the aspirations of this movement. The leaders should also ask the people to stay alert, and so should they in case these leaders get busy with corruption and nepotism, again. BEWARE

So this means, all the andolans were done only to make Girija PM *shocked* *disgusted*.... All these people died so that the old and dying man could be the prime-minister!!! WOW we nepali have very well learnt to accept anything that comes in the name of democracy- be it a chor fataha like Girija or a lute kukoor like Makune.... Khali so-called democracy ko lalmohor lagyo bhane, we don't care what dirty games these politicians play behind the liberal curtain of democracy..... I sincerely feel sorry for those who lost their lives for nothing more than girija- the scumbag and his fellow chamchas.

People in the Parliament are all liars and corrupt anyways (personal experience with a few Members of Parliament - both Houses - both UML (both) and NC(both)). Now we have 205 + 7 + 1 evils to tackle as oppose to 8 (7 SPA and 1 Maoist). I think what KG did was to save the sovereignty, rather than monarchy. So, I Welcome King's move. I hope the Tuesday's demo should now be averted, if the SPA have some sense of humanity, responsibility and morality.

Am I missing something or is the issue of constituent assembly, which is the minimum requirement of the SPA, still not addressed by the king?

Chatmandude, IMO that was a maag made by SPA to get the support of maoists... Now, that the SPA can go ahead and make the government themselves i.e without the help of maoists, I don't think they would worry about constituent assembly at the moment... After all these years of kursi deprivation, SPA would like to concentrate on their kursis rather than the Maoists who can execute SPA leaders anytime they come to power.

Man! the king is still playing the game. The parliament was dismissed according to the constitution. The SC also stated that the dismissal was constitutional. Yes, the intent of the king in dismissing the parliament was far from being fair to the process but the process, nevertheless, was constitutional. I don't understand what's the point of reinstating the parliament, members of which can't even go to their constituency. Hijadaharuko khel suru bho feri aba. What a joke! dismiss the parliament reinstate the parliament...ask the Supreme Court, slap the Supreme Court... the king keeps on dancing. Now, he has asked the politicians to join the dancing as well. CA is urinated upon. If the movement takes a break now, it will not be easy to swing millions of people on the streets again any time soon. The king looks safe, at least for now. This reinstatement of parliament is the best news for GPK, thank-god news for the king, a bad news for Maoists, and horrible news for the people. The pain, and sufferring continues for common citizens.

Thanks, Lonely1, for your explanation. So, 1. Parliament Restoration 2. Formation of new interim government (including Maoists?) 3. Constituent Assembly 4. New constitution + removal or stay of monarchy Of the above 4 (not verbatim to the demands of SPA), #1 has been fulfilled. Does this mean the king will allow the rest 3 points to occur? I think this has to be made crystal clear. Otherwise, we might just be back at pre-2002 state and still have the same problems.
