Sahina ur absolutely right, its kinda mini Nepali town ..n I feel proud in saying that becoz no other foreigners cud ever survive the heat of positive image of hard working n faithful Nepalis..since it is a student's town every weekend here is like u going to tarkari bazar ..all u hear is Nepalese language here n there.....Leuven rocks for Nepalese n they deserve it too.

many non-anglophone countries in europe do not have many nepalis.... i find that theres an advantage and a drawback to this..advantage: you have no choice but to do as a roman does in rome..being accustomed to the host country's culture pays off well !!not only do you learn a new language but you also discover other lifestyles and this allows you to analyse your own culture since you re detached (geographically and psychologically and i dont mean emotionally) from it..whats the point of expatriation if you re planning on flocking with your compatriots only ? drawback : the cultural shock is hard to handle and very longlasting since you cant bitch about the locals and their culture with a fellow nepali ..aba ghar ko na ghaat ko bhaencha..but this too can eventually become an advantage, thinking positively i think one learns to analyse or look at something with two perspectives, but it takes time to understand that..the nepali perspective and the western perspective.., i ve decided that i am ghar ko pani , ghaat ko pani and yes i am glad about it.. that is of course my personal opinion hagi, your reflexions on the above notions are higly welcome but pls do spare me the higly chauvinistic remarks !! ps- girls living in scandinavia, lucky ppl !! the guys are hot up there..must be highly agreable to the eye !!

sahina: Greman are so racist and they hate English like a hell and we can rearly find English speaking German but Country has lots of good places for visiting. ******************************************************************************** sahina timro kura malai alik hajam bhayena! jaha samma malai laagchha germans are so eager to learn english. if u go n ask any german in english(not older than 50 though) , u will be surprised. what i have even experienced, most of them even check their own level of english if they find any english speaking person. the youngs feel ashamed of themselves when they can't speak english. u will find more students in english courses than any other and similarly students from other countries like usa n uk n from others parts of europes are learning german with the same eagerness. the reason can be tourism or exchange of students but whatever hating or loving certain languages or nationalities is vanishing rapidly but the people who have just heard n not experienced are making it an issue of discussion nothing else. for e.g. university of copenhagen in sweden, university of bonn in germany(total 40,000 students- every sixth is a foriegner), university of lausanne in switzerland(max. foriegners) , there are numerous foreign students, so the world is getting smaller n it is better to jot down ur own experiences as there is an adage: everyone has his/her own taste!

amazing bro, "buddha was born in india ". indians haru ati nai fataha chhan . i told one of my indian frens that budhha was born in lumbini, nepal. he said "no! in lumbini, india." bharey ta map ma lumbini indiama pani raichha pachhi kuro bujhdai ja da they created a new place called lumbini even then the fact that buddha got enlightment in india can not be neglected.pachhi arko interesting kura pani thaha payiyo ke bhanda biratnagar was named after king birat(jasle mahabharatma pandawko pakchhya bata yuddhama bhag liyeko thiyo). pachhi indiama pani tehi naam gareko city banayeka rahechhan re. so they rename their cities which , they suppose can be for some fame.(the second fact was also from one of my indian frens, though m not sure). he has a great knowledge about the history of his country n nepal as well. just timile suru garkeole alikati thapidiyeko matrai ho amazing bro, ahile lai yeti nai tata!

Hmmm racism will be found everywhere. BUT racism is not the issue. Segregation is the issue. As long as we as a society find it ok to interact with only our 'own' race we will never achieve understanding of others cultures. This is the important issue.

"Segregation is the issue. As long as we as a society find it ok to interact with only our 'own' race we will never achieve understanding of others cultures. This is the important issue. " Well said, Matrixrose. And from my experience I have seen people from poorer countries segregating themselves more than the ones from the richer countries. May be it is the tendency to be dependent, may be because of the lack of confidence to create an individual identity and to be identified in a group; just my assumptions. And yes, racism is everywhere, even in Nepal.
