I'd say yes. An average 29 inch flat screen tv (not LCD) costs about 500 bucks back home. If you know someone working in border patrol (decided to give them a fancy name instead of typical ones we're accustomed to - danthes and ghusyaha bhansar karmachari), you're well better off taking a tv from here. You could probably eliminate custom fees (they charge per inch) that way.
That said, you might wanna make an inquiry about shipping and handling cost for TVs.

Either carry one that is you can carry in side your baggage or buy one with the size does not need to pay extra luggage. Please make sure the sign of LCD tv is now shown. For sure it is a PAL.
Talk to the guy who want to help you on carry the bags , give him 20 dollars for passing through the custom. These people have good connection with custom people.
