Even though, this topic has been coming again and again, I wanted to bring it up again. I am graduating soon with non IT related major. Its in engineering. Aba esto herda, aafnu field ma kaam paindaina jasto cha. So, I was thinking of joining IT field through consultancy. My first question is can we make a stable career in the field? I do not have any background at all except for basic programmings and software used in engineering. Everybody says that it is dependent upon you to succeed in it or not. My questions is can we actually learn ourselves or from the job or a degree in the field is definitely necessary? Once more question that crosses my mind is what are the positions that people going into IT field through consultancy work on? Any information on it will be highly appreciated. Finally, can you guys give me some contact information on IT consultancy in New York/New jersey area? I would like to personally contact them and see what it is all about.

Everything is possible if you have eagerness to learn and challenge yourself. There is nothing stable here for granted you have to work on it to make it stable. Google companies that is one of the IT hub you should get some free food training & hope will land somewhere.

Good and bad points about consultancy in my experience. Bad Have to work in different field than you have studied. Have to defend higher/wrong resume in interview. Can not start a job as a beginner, have to act like experienced even if you are not. Move from city to city at starting of your career. Might face problems in H1 and GC process.
Good Easy to get job, No worry of being laid off. Good money even after making consultancy rich. if you are eager and hard working, you will be in senior positions soon and will get good experience as will be travelling to different work places. Faster GC process as you can bargain with your consultancy.

US ma full-time position pani stable hudaina, suruma 3-4 barsa full time kam garera company le green card nagaridiyeko le consultancy aaune manchhe pani dekheko chhu maile. Consultancy batai kam gare pani aafulai ramrari develop garera skill set ramro pare, 2-3 barsama GC bhayo bhane then U can look for full time job and you will have settled career. PS : Ramro company chha ra aafu ramro kam garne ho bhane full time ramro ho, napaye matra consultancy bichar gareko ramro.

.net developer, java developer, QA, BA, Sql developer, oracle developer etc. Consultancy bata full time ta sunya chaina, but consultancy bata chhirera client ko ma ramro impression jamauna sakyo ra belama GC banauna sakyo bhane client ko ma full time kam garna milchha. I hope it helps. :)
