does anyone know, if our h1b is not selected, how and when will we know that its not selected? I am desperately waiting for my receipt notice and i have not gotten it yet...so, i am thinking may be i wont get it...and that's fine...what else can i do? but when do we know that it was not selected, if it was not selected? in case of premium processing, will they send you some notice saying that you are screwed??? I want to know either way as soon as possible, i cannot hang on this thin rope of hope forever. anyone???

Still waiting....Just to make myself feel better I pray that USCIS has stopped doing premium processing and will process them  as normal like the way they did last year due to the volume of the applications received...If that be the case we could all hope that we can still wait even until after the 15th day..We still have two more days...All it takes is a split moment to hear what we need to hear..So hte good news might be on the way..So all you guys just chill and leave it up to GOD.

I have been checking my bank ac to see if my check for PP has been cleared since that would indicate the receipt and getting thru lottery...I hope my eyes are lucky enough to see that amount decrease on my account.....I pray for you alll too...Keep up the hope and lets keep our threads alive!!!!!!

yea, its crazy...for the first time in my life, i desperately want someone to cash my check and take my money away (1000 dollars to USCIS)...

 

Mine too, Master's, premium, verment, no one in our office got h1b, i think only one.
Waiting and uscis let today that they have lot of cases which are not in the system yet.

Checks for PP being cashed out doesnot mean that you went through the lottery. All the other three checks are to be cashed away at the same time cause PP checks are cashed out any way whether you are selected or not . Good Luck to you all.

It sounds absurd to me to hear that they would cash PP checks regardless of your getting thru the lottery. If PP checks being cashed does not mean being thru the lottery, then it means that USCIS went through all 163,000 application packages??? I do understand that on my earlier post I mentioned just PP checks,(and not the other checks) because thats the only check majority of individuals would have access to, since it doesnt need to be paid by employer. So, you could check up on it anytime u want. I still say that PP checks being cashed means that they did open your package and for that you had to be selected in the lottery. They wouldnt just go thru each and  every packages. Am I wrong here anywhere Danphe?????

No, I think they would not cash your check if you are not selected in the lottery. It was the mistake they made last year...even after sending the receipt notice, some of the candidates did not get the lottery last year, so they changed it for this year and they are not to cash the cheque of anyone who is not selected in the lottery...so, if your cheque is cashed, that means that your application is picked up in the lottery...you would still have to go through the approval process, which is think is about 2% of the work(going thru lottery and getting picked is 99%).

We  are being charged $1000 bugs to get the decision withing 15 days regardless if u get thru lottery or not. Since they notify you whatever be the outcome of the lottery they will take $1000 bugs for their service. Only the amount applicalble to H1B petition will be return. This is what i have understood. Did you get any receipt for yours. I applied from two different company because the first company i asked to apply did not showed any interest until the end. I assumed that they would not file for me this year as they screwed my application last year too. But now they call me to say they got the receipt number.

The company i plan to work in near future also applied and they also got the receipt.

Both Advanced degree/Non premium. I am really confused and scared now. How long do we have to wait to get the approval?
