Resale value of Toyota has fallen to double figures in %, I would say it would be a good deal if it was a Honda or Nissan.

its a good deal if it is on the dealer. if you are buying from a person, no.

the difference is:  cars in big dealers are usually re-conditioned, they fix everly little stuff to make it better before they sell it. they are better.

whereas personal cars are usually kept with zero maintenance when they plan to sell it.

No. Used MANUAL car with replaced transmission should not cost this price. My suggestion is that do not buy this car.

Usually resale value of manual car is lot cheaper and more if you buy from private seller. On top, this car has transmission being replaced. Similar 2006 toyota camry, AUTOMATIC you should be able to buy from dealer with around 10K.

Had a test drive, Basic Camry car  looks nice, had been involved in an accident nothing major, had to replace the front bumper only. Driven in Colorado by an undergraduate student and a heavy smoker, it has been washed still smells and would not go away.
Clutch has been replaced recently and feel kind of noise going from first gear to second and second to 3rd gear. Taken to the garage and mechanic drove it and RPM in idle is fine. I did not priced the car.

After all these cons is it worth of paying 6000? I am thinking of offering this much?

replaced clutch doesn't hurt the car. THat's not similar as replaced transmission. IF it makes noise during the shifting that cannot be overlooked. I would say if the mechanic says there is no major flaw in the transmission go for it dude. I would say its a steal for 2006 camry with 55000 miles. I sold 2000 camry with 79000 miles and replaced engine for 6000 last year. It was manual aswell and i had replaced the clutch also.
