Dear Readers/Friends, December 28th is the birthday of our beloved Late King Birendra. He was born on Dedember 28th, 1945 in Kathmandu, Nepal. He ascended to the throne on 31 January 1972 and ruled our beloved Nepal along with hearts and minds of many Nepalis until June 1, 2001. He engineered and carried out many development plans for the welfare of the country and countrymen. As we all know, he was a true King who cared about his people from the bottom of his heart. He was a perfect and an ultimate gentleman. He was, moreover, like a saint. Let's remember him from our heart on his 61st Birthday. Lets, PLEASE pray for the eternal peace of the great soul and thank him for his service to Nepal and Nepali people. Thanks! More info. about King Birendra can be found at the following site: http://www.nepalhomepage.com/general/kings/birendra/birendra.html

Allow me to disagree.. I don't believe there is anything siginificant done for the people by any Shah King including this dude. All he did was get drunk and let his wife/brothers and their gang of murderers run the country. All of them are fuked up including this no good ass...

Milliondollars raised a million dollar arguements...And I do believe that Monarchy is not a need of our soil provided our leaders stand for clean politics which seems far away... But there were couple of times king Birendra stepped down in favor of democracy even if his kitchen advisors were against him and he paid penalty by his and his family lives... So,What do we lose remebering him in his Birthday ?

I don't believe King Birendra Stepped down for the people. He did for himself because he knew how he would end up if he was to oppose the will of the people. Now, that does not make him great, does it ?

A dead king is a good king. A good king is a dead king. He was an ineffectual king. That is all. May his soul rest in peace.

All shah king are blood sucke. They have not done any good to nepalese people. Birendra is not exception. Remember how many people killed under hie rule. Remember how many people killed in 24-25 chaitra-2046 curfew time under his direct rule . So he deserve how he was killed in palace.

NO KINGDOM WILL SURVIVE FOREVER CAUSE THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A POWER STRUGGLE WITHIN THE FAMILY, AND ALSO BAD DEEDS DONE TO THE PEOPLE. IT'S ALWAYS THE PEOPLE WHO WINS. POWER TO THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE IS THE ONLY WAYS TO PROGRESS AND PROPSERITY.

It is very sad to see what some Nepalis think about this dead Good King. But I do not blame them as they are filled with hatred for the Shah kings; they are ignorant enough not to see the good deeds done by King Birendra, instead some have even abused the dead King (above). It is really too sorrowful to learn that some Nepalis have dropped down so much in their moral values that they do not have respect for a man who is no more with us and the man who has done and has tried to do a lot for Nepal. The generousity, kindness, sincererity, humbleness of our beloved Late King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah dev is not worth discussing with these perry minded people, I guess, because they do have enough sense to understand it. Anyways, May The King Birendra rest in peace and may He forgive his some follish countrymen.

Million Dollar, You've told me to name one -just one- good deed by King Birendra. Well, there are a bunch, but like you want here's only one of them: He restored democracy in Nepal in 1990. Now, you might say that King Birendra did not bring democracy in Nepal, it was the Nepali people or the political leaders. But the fact is that if it wasnot for King Birendra who selflessly restored democracy honoring the wishes and desires of his people no body would have been able to bring democracy in our country.
