Yes, the $5,000 option is eliminated beginning August 3, 2026.
Beginning August 3, 2026: Nepalese visitor-visa applicants may now face bonds of $10,000, $15,000, or $20,000.

The entire bond can be lost for overstaying, filing certain applications late, failing to leave within
10 days after an extension/change-of-status denial, or filing Form I-589 for asylum.
The traveler must enter and leave through a commercial airport—not through a land or sea
border.
This new rule also does not require someone with an already-
issued visitor visa to pay a new bond retroactively.
May allow single or multiple entries, valid from 3 to 12 months
