Rajesh Hamal's Visa Rejected!!!!!!!!
4 February 2009-Wednesday

Nepali celebrities' foreign tours and the visa process needed for that time and again beat the gossip market. This time we aren’t wandering around a rumor. It’s truly a matter of astonishment to hear when Rajesh Hamal, a celebrated personality gets rejected for temporary visa from The American Embassy.

Recently, superstar Rajesh Hamal was rejected by the Emigration Section of the American Embassy during the application of the temporary Visa for USA. The embassy itself being an evidence of Hamal’s previous tours (about 20 times) to America, actually illustrated its absurd act by rejecting his temporary visa this time. The motive behind Hamal’s application for the visa wasn’t personal at all. It was for the attendance as Chief Guest for the screening of his movie “BISH” in three different venues in America. Rajesh Hamal being a part of the movie “BISH” which is a social initiative based on a storyline of drug addiction and Hamal himself being the ambassador of antidrug campaign in Nepal, was refute from the visa approval. If the Embassy was skeptical about Hamal’s visa approval, why was his permit accepted every year??????? His annual tour to America wasn’t concealed from The Embassy either about his family members who residethere. Sounds complete rubbish…….why would a dominant star like Rajesh Hamal settle in America now?

The celebrities like Richa Ghimire, Sudip Giri and Nisha Sunuwar receiving consent of the visa at the same day of Rajesh Hamal’s rejection sounds even more questionable. If anyone from Nepali film fraternity is respected, esteemed and admired by the audience of every genre, that has to be superstar Rajesh Hamal. Rajesh Hamal has served nepali film industry continuously for last two decades and has been ranked as one of the loyal citizen of the country. His persistent social involvements are the evidences of his warmth towards the country. The scorn towards such a legendary and monopolistic actor of Nepal can be considered as an offend towards Nepal and Nepali film fraternity.

It’s ridiculous! You never know the criteria and they never know the importance. May be they want some publicity(?) by rejecting some renowned figures. This happens quite a while. Although they have right to deny or issue the visa, in most visitor visas (B2), they lose their common sense.

1. Maybe it is their country and they can do what they think is the best
2. Maybe too many of our artists have resorted to stay illegal. Who can guarantee these days?
3. Maybe he has ties with a terrorist somewhere in Russia, where he visit often which  I've heard of.
4. Maybe be the new guy at the Embassy did not know about our world famous actor/philosopher/son of a rich guy.
5. Maybe you need to set your priority and post difficult things that our nation is facing, and not about an individual.

Guys, dont come to conclusion. May be some document of Rajesh Hamal was missing. Rejection of visa is by no means end of the world. People have  tried 9-10 times and finally get visa. It is difficult to comment without knowing the proper reason.

Bull shit ..act of embassy..he is genuine n niece guy..n he had been to US multiple time previously.lets see what will be the outcome when he reapply the visa..But this crazy cun"t in emabassy really dont' know what they doing..i think those other 3 who got visa r more likely to hide in US then Rajesh Hamal.....n they should look @ his previous visit ..he is back to NEPAL each time..I think its a publicity stunt by some Dhead in American Embassy.

He is different type of actor compare to other who never went back if he wanted he would have stayed long time ago..he has respect..he is well educated ..n he have a great foundation/income to be in NEPAL.I think it'l b lot harder for em to work in service station n subway in US..then being in NEPAL..

May be the document is missing, but instead of rejecting they could have postponed or put query. Some bull shit is going with the people issuing visa at the Embassy(or did he forget to slide $500 under the table ? who knows economy is down in US).
Anyways my point is , this is not the first time they are rejecting prominent figures from nepal, couple years ago i heard they rejected one of the prominent professors from TU and after couple days, the ambassador said it is a mistake on the part of counselor and they are willing to provide the visa if the candidate applied again.
Guess what he never did after all he was heading for the convention and it is of no use for him after that point.

That is the sad part to be a third class citizen.
Best wishes to Rajesh Hamal.

Rumor has it that the Rajesh Hamal look-alike guy who played his double in the movie "Gopi Krishna" had already been granted a US visa under passport-bearer name as "Mr. Rajesh Hamal" right before the real Rajesh Hamal applied for the visa. The consulate obviously concluded that the second application must be a fake one.
The moral of the incident is:
Do not act in a movie which has double, triple or more parts if you foresee yourself applying for US visa.
