Since I started this thread, here is the answer I got from Delhi Airport (IGI) GM. To my suprise I got this email back the next day. ----------------------------------------------------- Thanks for contacting IGI Airport. International passengers having onward connecting international flight can wait in the transit lounge of International Terminal (Tr. II) till their next departure irrespective of transit time, and no visa is required for the same. You do not need to go through Customs and Immigration formalities as after claiming checked-in baggage you head directly to Transit lounge at the first floor or you can request your airlines to transfer your checked-in baggage directly to the connecting flight. For any assistance please feel free to interact with our Airport Manager on duty. With kind regards R.K. Srivastava General Manager(Ops.) Delhi International Airport Pvt. Ltd. This sounds interesting as I have had an impression that travelling Nepal via Delhi or India is very hectic and Immigration and Custom is a big problem. Anyways what is the fare travelling Nepal via India? Hada

From Newark(EWR) to Delhi(IGI) $850 round trip including all taxes. Del-Ktm round trip $250 so about $1,100 total. This fare is for month of May.

.Quagmire, now that's a good name but my favorite is still Peter Griffin. To answer your question dc_mitra, I have two different ticket, EWR-Del round trip I got from Continental.com and del-ktm I got from Jetairways.com. Both e-ticket, non refundable and got about 3 months ago. The best part on going this route beside price is I'll be at Kathmandu within 24 hours.
