I have got a 2 year IT contract opportunity in Detroit, MI. I have never been there but I have never heard good things about that place either. So, I am debating if I should move there. My office is located in Detroit Downtown. I do not know any Nepali there, neither do I know where is the safest place to get an accommodation. Any suggestion or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jaamin

Working in Detroit is good. I used to work in Detroit and have friends currently working in Detroit. However, get an apt around Farmington Hills, Novi or Troy. There are tons of Nepali in these area who live there and commute Detroit for work. Good Luck.

@Jammin: I guess you will be working in BCBS Michigan. There are lot of Nepalese that works in Detroit, Downtown, so you would probably find few of them at least. If you work in Downtown, I would say Troy will be the best place to get an apt. since Farmington Hills and Novi will be bit far from your work location.
