my h1b got approved and its valid from 06/01/07. So does this mean i can start working from 06/01/07 .. ? Any help will be greatly appreciated

yes, if its says valid thru 06/01/07 means u can start from 06/01/07

yes brother, congrats...but if you already have OPT valid till 6-01-07, no need to wait till h1b start date.....have fun...start drinking beer if you dont, and chill in this hot summer....

As far as I understand H1Bs dont go into effect until 1st October though they are approved earlier. You might want to check with your attorney just to make sure that you are reading it right.

Problem101, if your H1B is for college, university, or research institutes and some non-profit organizations (which are exempt from quota), then you can start working from 06/01/07.

If you applied through one of the quota limited category and intended to start working from 10/01/07, it might be an error on the part of USCIS. Better talk to your attorney.

was your petition filed under regular processing or premium? anybody who did regular processing and got approved ? undergrad/masters?

number, I did premium processing (undergrad).

Contour actually I had my OPT expired Jan 07. I was late when I applied for h1b last year and the quota was already filled. Somehow I got lucky this year though. For sure I will chill n drink beer and jim beam ;)

i need to obtain a new h1b visa stamp. while being in usa, how does one schedule a visa appintment at us embassy in ktm? is there a way? i can go to canada to get the stamp, but thought better go to ktm so as to kill two birds with one bullet-get stamp and visit families and friends. any suggestions?
