Maoist chairman Prachanda today tabled a political proposal at the ongoing fifth plenum of the party, saying his party wouldn't stay longer in the government but will participate in the constituent assembly (CA) elections.
There was no need to stay in the government for a longer time due to its poor performance, Prachanda said in his proposal, adding that his party, however, would contribute for holding CA polls from outside the government.
The plenum, which started at Balaju Industrial Complex yesterday, aims to formulate the party's future political strategy. His proposal comes a day after the one of five Maoist ministers in the coalition government tendered his resignation to him. The resignation of the Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Matrika Yadav was said to be rejected by Prachanda.
