Im in the United States for 5 years. varkhar afno status gayo. Ma refugee file garna lako. Reasons: I can provide true proof, facts being politically threatened, almost everything. Problem: I didn't do it in 1 year and its been 5 years now. I want to just give a try cos I have true proof. Please let me know what are the forms i have to fill out, the proof I have from Nepal (like: letters everything is in Nepali. Will that help me? ki english ma chahinchha?), they are may be 5 and half years old proof. Will that help me?  Immi. lai kati tirna parchha? I am seriously getting freak out. I can provide solid proof cos it happened to me but i screwed up already being out of status and its been 5 years already. Please help me.

 How did you lose your status by the way? May be there is a way out to regain the status so please explain everything in detail. Also regarding the asylum application I don't think you really have a chance if you apply it right now. If you think you really deserve to be an asylee, it might be better to apply once you get your F1 status back. In that case, even if you lose your case you could still remain here in States as a F1 student. If you apply now for asylum and get denied, you will be deported back to Nepal. 
  Also if you are not in a position to back up from your decision to file for an asylum, make sure you at least work with a great lawyer. Use this website avvo.com to find the best lawyers in your area. There is a search option in which you can even find few lawyers who could give you free 30 minutes in person consultation or a phone consultation. So use that option as well. Also try to locate the branch of Immigrant Service Center in your area and see a counselor. They also have attorneys who could give you consultation at a very negligible fee.

My sincere request to other pseudointellects of sajha, Back the F@#K up. Everybody is in a different situation so chew on your own rotten arrogance and breathe on your mephetic air of accomplishment, and piss off if you've got nothing to say. Just remember that what goes around comes around.

As far as I know, if you file asylum being out of status and got denied your case will be forwarded to the court.After that, it might take years for it to either approve or disapprove. Its hectic and time consuming step, it wont hurt to try. But, like everyone suggested i'd look around for good lawyer and go from there.
