bravo! jai_nepal, you nailed the guy right in! now listen here you idiot, if you can't realize how pathetic your own English is, don't tell others to join an insitute. Sorry, my bad; I didn't know that you are still a little kid as your profile picture shows. Seems like you need to learn to put on an underwear before you go to school for some English lessons. Anyways, I'll help you see where you're at regarding English:
- you spelt "please" incorrectly
- only one period after "institute"
- the "h" in "hopefully" should be capitalized
- put a comma after "hopefully"
- remove those two periods after "and"
- "oh" seems redundant since you already used "and"
- put one space each after "by" and "the"
- remove those two periods after "way" and put a comma instead
- "dont" is incorrect; write either "do not" or "don't"
- replace those three periods after school with a semi colon
Take home message: don't try to be oversmart if you can't help.
anavon:
pretty much any book available out there will work. but you might learn better from some than from others. if you have access (local book-shop or library at your school), skim through a chapter on books from multiple publishers (like Kaplan, Barron, etc); buy the one that suits you the best. 10 months is more than enough to prepare for GRE. if you are motivated enough to study regularly on your own without slacking off, there's no need to join an institute. you might get a little more help from an institute, but you can find answers to things you don't understand on the internet.

So,
Somebody becomes a jerk to somebody and you become a jerk to them. Another person might now become jerk to you and this cycle will go on.
On his defense, those are not double periods. Those are called ellipsis and many of the errors pointed out are justified by the ellipsis.
@anavon
It really depends upon you; do you do good by reading yourself or when somebody coaches you? I studied for it by myself. 10 months is more than enough to prepare for GRE, join some good forums and they can guide you better.

@oh-gaathe: There is no specific range. However, it depends upon what program you are applying to. Universities have cutfoff points for GRE verbal and quantative. If you are trying to go to a PhD program, 700 in the quantative and 500 or maybe 550+ in the verbal is a good score. But you may be able to get in with a lower score as well. It will depend on what program you are applying to and which colleges you are considering. I would say that with a 1200+ score and a good undergrad GPA, you might have a good chance to get into a PhD program.
@anavon: I used Kaplan's GRE bookto prepare for the test. I have the pdf version(for the new revised GRE) of it. Message me your email, and I will send you the pdf file.

New gre scores don't range from 200-800. Rather it is 130-170. From what i read into it n friend's experience, new gre is very very hard. It is really not adaptive n each question carries equal point. There is no antonymn like before. Verbal section consists of reading comprehension, text completion n sentence equivalance. Verbal section is harder than ever. U really need to prepare from lots of books. Sticking to few books is not good idea. Each book gives u new idea. Best books for new gre r ets,kaplan, 1014 n barrons. Make sure ya vocabulary is above 3500 n recommended around 5000. But having good vocab does not give direct advantage as in previous gre

You will need to do lots of reading n comprehension from as many books u can. This is must. Jus vocabs don't help. For science major maths mus not be dat hard. But make sure u practice like 1 excercise daily. Gre does need lots of time n dedication. Imagine n calculate how much time n dedication u r going to give. Then multiply it by factor of 1.5. Yes gre is dat hard. I have seen so many frens prepare for 1400s n end up wid around 1200. Lastly best of luck n hope my tips helps.

@Anavon, I bought a Kaplan for the math and , Barron's, "top GRE words" from Barnes and nobles which came arnd $39. But, I am pretty sure if you get online it will be whole lot cheaper. I just have over two weeks for the test, so just wraping things up. Have I had enough time, I would have join a expert, atleast for the verbal section.
@Jai_ Nepal
You are a pathetic looser.

@ superman91
vocabulary in GMAT is not that important, its a plus. Grammar is the key point. on qualitative section they mostly assess ur critical reasoning, sentence correction and reading comprehension. On quantitative section they have basic math concept but the questions are tricky. Like Ojaswi pointed out dedication is very important and slacking off is not an option. I am assuming you to be a business major so math is not going to be that easy either. The concepts are familiar but you need lots of practice on number properties, cordinates, stats and other stuffs. Good luck!!
